Earlier this week, Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert were both unanimously named to the All-Big East 1st team. Jon Wallace was an honorable-mention All-Big East player, and Dajuan Summers was named to the All-Rookie team. Georgetown has had two 1st-team players in the same year only 2 other times, 1980 (John Duren and Craig "Big Sky" Shelton) and 1990 (Mark Tillmon and Alonzo Mourning).
Other news, since I'm not feeling inspired to crunch numbers:
- The Big Ten Wonk gives Georgetown a 2nd shout-out after a nod last week.
- Tempo-Free Suburbia has posted Big East season final stats. While Georgetown looks great nearly across the board on offense (ignore those turnovers), I was surprised to see Georgetown ranked last (16th!) on defensive rebounding (allowing 33.7% OR by their opponents). This doesn't make a lot of sense to me, what with Seton Hall rated 5th at 29.1%, but I'm too lazy to check the numbers tonight.
- Camille Powell has run amok on the D.C. Sports Bog, so we got a story about Jeff Green's post-season award prospects (before his POY award was announced) and another on the Thompson family superstitions (see also the story linked therein).
- Here's a rambling post about RaMell Ross, as star-crossed a Hoya as there's ever been.
