From the tempo-free box score, another conclusion can be reached - once again, it was the defense that failed Georgetown. Allowing the Panthers to score 42 points on 31 possessions doomed any aspirations that the Hoyas had to stage a comeback in the 2nd half.
Some other points:
- Jon Wallace has made 3-14 3FGs in his last 2 games; in his previous 4 games, he was 13-16 3FG.
- Vernon Macklin managed to shoot 5-5 2FG for 10 points to go along with 2 blocks and 0 (!) rebounds, his best offensive perfomance of the season.
- Georgetown's 2FG% for the game was ~4% points better than their season average (58.4%); their 3FG% was ~25% points worse than their season average (39.7%).
I love the website. It's great someone is giving Gtown the full statistical treatment. Just wanted to give you a heads up that my brother's and I are all season ticket holders in section 114 and have started another website dedicated to college basketball http://teesweekly.com. It's heavy on Hoya content. Here's a link to one recent story on Wallace http://www.teesweekly.com/perfectbball.html We'll be linking to Hoyas Prospectus as soon as we get our links up. Thanks again
